first lesson

Friday (19/07) I attended my first English class as a high school student. The lesson was all about summary writing and how important it is. "keep it simple" would be the general idea of summary writing, it is important to always keep it short and straight to the point.
To write the ideal summary you have to first understand what a summary is right? A summary is more or less, just reproducing important facts and ideas from a text using your own words. Making sure to not keep it to lengthy, while still creating clear well-constructed continuous paragraphs.
But! Before ever even establishing a summary, you have to pay attention to the text you're summarizing; otherwise you'll end up missing out on all the important info. So always be sure to skim read through the whole text before getting started.
Summarizing texts are an important skill to have since it teaches you to pay attention to important information and ignore all the irrelevant details; not to mention it shows up in almost every English exam...
